Nonagenarian US actor Clifton James passes away

Veteran US actor Clifton James who appeared as Sheriff JW Pepper in ‘James Bond’ film series dies.

Veteran US actor Clifton James, best known for his roles in two installments of ‘James Bond’ franchise, passes away at the age of 96.

With his acting career spanning decades, Clifton was born in 1920 and played as Sheriff JW Pepper in two James Bond films “Live and Let Die” (1973) and “The Man with the Golden Gun” (1974).

He appeared in several movies, including ‘Eight Men Out’ and ‘The Bonfire of the Vanities’.

‘James Bond’ film series star died at 96 from complications relating to his diabetes, a media report said.

He was also chosen for 2016's ‘Old Soldiers’, which was stopped as several older cast members died.

James' daughter Lynn was quoted by the media as saying, "He was the most outgoing person, beloved by everybody,” adding, "I don't think the man had an enemy. We were incredibly blessed to have had him in our lives."
